Leh Floods – Death Toll On Rise – 130 Deaths Reported

The death toll is on the rise in Leh since the calamity struck the region. The torrential rains and flash floods have destroyed the human life there. The latest reports claim that as many as 130 deaths have been reported and almost 600 people assumed to be washed away in the floods.

 
To make the matter worse the officials there are anticipating deaths could reach the number 500, since the search of many villages is yet to be done.

The Jammu and Kashmir Government has asked the friends and families of the tourists who had been in the region during the calamity to contact on the given number 00870763613623.
Police Chief Kuldeep Khoda said, “We have recovered 130 bodies so far and at least 370 are injured. The number of missing is yet to be ascertained.”

Even the Army has suffered the loss due these rains and floods in the Turtuk region.
